Privacy Policy

Effective 20 August 2026. PolarCurve LLC, Sheridan, Wyoming, United States.

There are no accounts in this product. You cannot make one, and we did not build the tables that would hold one. What follows is not a summary — it is the complete list of what we store.

1. What the app sends us

Once at each launch, to check whether the device is licensed:

That is the whole request. In particular the app never sends us:

Those things exist only in the app's own storage on your own device. Settings → Transfer moves them directly between your devices; it does not go through us.

2. What we store

Four categories, and there is not a fifth:

We keep no browsing history, no viewing history, no location, no contacts and no advertising identifier, because none of it is collected in the first place — see section 1.

3. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking

The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifier and no third-party tracker. It does not build a profile of you, and there is no path in the code by which it could — this is enforced by tests that fail if one is added.

4. This website

The site and the licensing service are hosted on Cloudflare, which — like any web host — processes the technical details of each request, including your IP address, to deliver the page and to protect it against abuse. We do not use those logs to identify you.

The activation page shows a Cloudflare Turnstile challenge. It is there to tell a person from a script before we look a device up, and it is a security measure: it does not track you between sites and is not used for advertising.

Measurement. With your consent we use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It is off until you choose otherwise, we do not use it for advertising, and declining changes nothing about how the site works. The cookies page explains what it sets and how to change your mind. No analytics of any kind runs inside the app — see section 3.

5. Payments

Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider. Your card number never reaches us and we could not store it if we wanted to. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the email address you gave, and the Device ID it was for.

6. Why we are allowed to hold this

We hold the Device ID and licence records because they are necessary to perform the contract you entered into when you activated a device — there is no way to give you a licence without knowing which device it is for. We hold the email address on a purchase for the same reason, and to meet accounting obligations.

7. How long

Licence and purchase records are kept while the licence is valid and then for as long as our tax and accounting obligations require. Enough is kept about a device that has had a trial to stop it restarting one indefinitely. Aggregate totals are kept indefinitely; they contain nothing about you.

8. Sharing

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone's marketing. It is shared only with our hosting provider and our payment provider, each acting on our behalf, and with a public authority where the law actually requires it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our holding it. Write to contact@ekoplayer.com with your Device ID — it is the only handle we have on your records, so we cannot act without it. Deleting a licence record deactivates the licence; we will say so before we do it.

10. Children

eKoPlayer is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. There is nothing in the product to collect.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. A change that materially reduces your privacy will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
